Book a meeting

A first conversation about what you are trying to build, with somebody who can tell you honestly whether this is a firm that should be doing it.

We would rather have one useful conversation than a sequence of polite ones. So it helps to know what the first meeting is and what it is not. It is not a demonstration, because there is no product to demonstrate. It is not a pitch with slides. It is a working conversation about a problem you have, and it ends with a straight answer about whether we are the right people for it.

Who you meet, and when a partner joins

The first conversation is not with a founding partner, and we would rather say that plainly than have you discover it on the call. It is there to understand what you are trying to do, what already exists, and what would have to be true for the work to be worth starting. Where that conversation goes somewhere, a founding partner is in the next one, and stays with the engagement from scoping through delivery. Partner time is the scarce thing in a firm this size, and spending it well is the reason the first call exists.

What is worth bringing

Whatever state the problem is in. A written brief is welcome and so is the absence of one. What moves the conversation fastest is a plain description of the outcome somebody is asking you for, what has already been tried, where the data actually lives, and which reviewers have to accept the result. If you already know the constraints that will make this difficult, lead with those. We would rather hear them now than find them in month two.

What you get out of it

An honest read. Whether the problem is one that AI actually solves, whether it can be defined precisely enough to test, and whether we are the right firm for it. We turn down work we cannot staff with senior people, and we would rather say so in a first conversation than after a contract is signed. If the answer is that somebody else suits you better, you will hear that, and where we can we will say who.

Other ways in

What this is not

This is not a demonstration request and it is not a sales sequence. Booking a conversation puts you on no mailing list and starts no series of automated emails. It is also not the route for job applications, which go to and are read by a founding partner.
